August stage show is history; Host wishes to be on 'page one'
HILLSIDE'S AUGUST STAGE SHOW IS HISTORY thanks
to a group of "ladies" who were willing to show a huge audience their
talents. We are talking about the "talents" that can only be seen on
the Hillside stage on a beautiful Saturday evening.
What could have turned out to be one of those moments where a man in the audience feels wanted and loved like poison ivy, the
Webmaster wisely agreed to place the host's picture on this site's "page one" where the picture remained for two weeks. We've now taken it down but hopefully you were able to see it. It was not the same photo as the one at the right -- that's the
Webmaster's favorite photo of our show host, taken during one of the
camp's July 4th Pride Parades. Yes our Ag is
a big supporter of Hillside events.
AG
But we digress.
We
really should not bring attention to the agreement but it's important
that Hillsiders understand our reason for the page one photo, not that
it matters.
While the Aug. 15 show had only seven "acts," Ag and Miss Tippy were able to keep the dancers off the disco floor for about 45 minutes but no one was complaining.
Talking of embarrassing moments, Hillside owner Dave was placed in the spotlight when show host Ag asked him to replace the wireless mic that didn't work correctly at the beginning of the show. Dave agreed to do this while others had a number of explanations as to the problem, DJ Chuck acted quickly to resolve the problem by giving a backup wired mic to Ag and the show went on without further "technical" difficulties. A new wireless mic system has been purchased and will be used starting with the two Labor Day shows.
We thank the performers -- Miss Tippy, Billy, Keith & Mabel, Luba Uranus. Dixie Callan, Annesta Robbins and The Gypsy Roses. Where else could one find this lineup of talent? Obviously it's only at Hillside.
We hope the season's last show over Labor Day weekend will bring us more new faces and lots of talent.
As a reminder, a hand-made quiltwill
be given away to a lucky ticket holder during the Labor Day weekend
show. Be sure to get your tickets before the drawing. You do not have
to be present to win.
Until next time, please continue to make Hillside a drama-free zone except for the Stage Shows.
Let us entertain you . . .
