Enjoy the slide shows from the 2007 July 4 weekend . . .
IT’S GREAT TO SPEND ANY JULY 4 with family and friends and that’s exactly what happened at Hillside Campgrounds in 2007. Hundreds of men are spending at least a few days on the more than 200 sites including sites that can accommodate 80 campers or so campers in tents. It is a massive showing of wall-to-wall men having a great time. The weather couldn't be better for the 2007 weekend with bright sun and low humidity. It's perfect for what is going to take place on this first Saturday of a very long July 4, 2007, weekend.
Men who liked to wear
nothing attended the early afternoon NNS Party. There was plenty of food and drink and music for the daring,
if that is the proper word for gentlemen who do not wish to wear clothing unless they have to. For obvious reasons, we cannot show you pictures
of that party but NNS always has a terrific party. The next NNS
event will be clothing-optional for men who wish not to bare all.
While the NNS Party was going on, Neal and Matt (left) were busy getting ready for the 13th Annual Debutante Ball on the Landing Strip. Many men go all out
for the Ball rather than letting it hang out in contrast to the early afternoon NNS Party.
If
there is a fashion statement to be made at Hillside, it must be made at Saturday's Ball. It is obvious that many men take this event
seriously when they strut down the Landing Strip with eyeballs after eyeballs watching
every move.
We were there to catch the action. You may now enjoy the sites by viewing the slide show below. Do not miss these visual treats that surely tell you what the men were wearing and who they were noticing. We see many new refreshing
faces in the crowd as well as guests who haven't missed a Ball in the eight-year history of this popular event. The party invitation list is a who is who in the fashion world right here in Gibson, PA.
Speaking of shows, we will be front and center to bring you a recap of Hillside's July 4 Weekend Stage Show. It will be almost as good as being there for those men who couldn't make it to Hillside this weekend! The show slide show with a very brief description of what took place may be found below after the Debutante Ball show.
There is lots going on at your camp over the next few days so return to this page for more good times at Hillside.
Day Cmapers are always welcome after 10 a.m. any day. For only one lowfee, you too may enjoy all of Hilslide's events for the day including the 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. disco. Enjoy the 2007 Shows!
To help protect the images and campers' privacy, we no longer place navigation buttons on most slide shows presented on this site.
CAMP ICON GETS SHOW STANDING OVATION
SEVEN SONGS LATER and the July 4th Weekend Show was a wrap. The show ended a full day filled with special events including the NNS Party where the men let it all hang out and the "must-attend" Debutante Ball where fashion makes one wonder if he needs his eyesight checked. The weather was almost perfect for a fun-filled Saturday. We say "almost" because as the show started to wind down the wind started to pick up as a cool front came through camp.
For those of you who woke up Sunday not remembering what a wonderful time you had Saturday, let's review at least the show.
Hundreds of men witnessed the first stage show of the season. Ag did his normal job of hosting the shorter-than-normal show. He spotlighted a number of new men as they tried to avoid his sharp tongue but everyone knows that it's just in fun. For those of you who haven't been at a show and plan to see one this season, we offer this advice: Never sit in the first two rows. Now that Ag has a wireless mic, the new saying is "have mic, will travel!"
Several men have learned that sitting in the front two rows may not be a good idea. This has lead to even Butch moving farther back in the audience. Ag had to search him out in order to say "nice" things about him. A few men who did find themselves near the front got caught up in Ag's web. Just ask Michael from the Outback. Ag told a story of what happened when Michael left the water running in his trailer's sink. For anyone who saw Ag in action for the first time, remember, it's all in fun.
You didn't hear it here but Ag is known for making things up to get a laugh.
Monica Lewinsky began the show with her rendition of "I want to be a Republican!" A.k.a. Keith has a way of making almost anything funny when he strut across the Hillside stage and Saturday evening was no exception. If anyone did't get a gun just stop by Keith's site on the upper level and demand one. Tell him Bill sent you.
Charlotta, who performed "Jump . . ." wearing earrings any drag queen would kill for, looked prim and proper in her pink outfit. Any want-a-be performer could learn a thing-or-two about how to properly carry oneself on stage in front of the best of them.
Delta Gone's performance was so touching that even "Earl" made his very first stage appearance. As a reward Delta gave Earl a big one at the end of the performance and the two of them ran off the stage and Earl hasn't been seen since.
It's hard to comprehend that Adora MoreCox could perform "Amazing Grace," but she did. Writing about a show is subjective but when it comes to who has the biggest tits, Adora wins in the orbs department. That may explain why there has been no volleyball games this season. Trust me, they are huge, but she carries them nicely and she is always ready to accept the compliments from her admirers.
One of the most striking performers to control the Hillside stage in recent years is Dixie Callen. If anyone is born with stage presence, it's Dixie. This time we had the honor of having her perform the benefit number. By the time she was done with "Simply the Best,"$1,080 was raised for the Helping Hand Fund.
Ag took time out from her show hosting duties to auction off two paintings that were donated to raise money for the Helping Hand Fund. One painting went for $150, while the second one sold for $503. Congratulations and thanks to the winning bidders and a special thanks to the contributor whose gifts added $653 to the Fund. Skip reported that the Helping Hand Fund is celebrating its fifth year of being tax exempt. To find out how to contribute to the Fund send an e-mail to hhfund@aol.com or speak to a Helping Hand Fund Committee member at Hillside.
Miss Tippy moved and jumped around the stage so much that it was hard to get a good picture but thanks to our Nikon she couldn't escape. We've learned over the years that you've got to be fast to keep up with Miss Tippy, even when she asks the question "Johnny, Are You Queer?"
The show ended with Billy performing "God Bless The U.S.A" as only Billy can perform it. If there is a show icon, it has to be Billy. He has performed at more shows and received more standing ovations than any other single performer and Saturday evening was no exception.
Billy received a standing ovation as he started to become misty eyed. That's the one -- and perhaps the only -- advantage of sitting in the front row. One can get a very close view of the performers. This was an important evening for this star. As host Ag explained at the end of Billy's performance, Billy will have surgery this month and, if things go well, he'll be back at camp before the end of the season. His Hillside family wishes him well and prays that the surgery is successful. We look forward to seeing Billy return to the stage for another standing ovation.
What a perfect way to end the show with a performer getting a standing ovation. Thanks to all the performers and everyone who made the July 4 Weekend Show a success.
Remember, you, too, can be a star. Hopefully many new campers will sign up for the Talent Show July 28. We'll be there, will you?
PICTURE POSTING POLICY: Camp pictures are posted on this site for the purpose of letting viewers know the many exciting and fun events that take place at Hillside. We're told the picture coverage of most events is what makes this site current and we're happy to provide this service. If your picture is in one of the slide shows and you wish for it to be removed please e-mail the Webmaster giving him the page title, the show title and the picture number starting with the title slide as picture number one. A description of the item that needs to be removed would be helpful (i.e., person at far left, in middle, person with blue shirt, etc.). All slide show pictures are protected so others cannot remove a picture for posting on other sites. We have no control over pictures that campers take and may post on their personal sites. If you are unhappy with an image on this site please let the Webmaster know and he will remove it as long as you tell him specifically which picture it is. IF you find your picture posted on a non-Hillsdie site we suggest you write the Webmaster of that site requesting that the picture be removed. In all cases the Webmaster will hopefully remove it. Thank you for your help in making this site useful to Hillside viewers.
