WE'RE PROUD of Hillside Campgrounds and hope you are too. Let us know what you think. We're looking for comments that will help those who have not had an opportunity to visit our paradise. What suggestions do you have for them and others?

E-mail your comments to the Webmaster by clicking "SEND US COMMENTS" at the left. We can't use all comments but we'll try to post a good cross-section. You may use your initials or the name you go by but please keep it sanitized. We look forward to hearing from you.

NOTE: The camp owner is NOT the Webmaster of this site but needs and comments are shared with him. He will do his best to make your Hillside stay rewarding so please let us know if we can do better.

WHERE DID ALL THE AWARDS GO? This site has won many awards and we sincerely appreciate the recognition; however, we've decided to take the list off this site because it has grown so large. We wanted to give priority to your comments and to do that we had to sacrifice the awards' listings. We thank everyone who felt the site is worthy of an award.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT HILLSIDE

WEBMASTER'S NOTE: Hillside has many celebrities visit each season and the 2007 season is no exception. We do not announce who has visited, not even to fellow Hillsiders, since many visitors come to Hillside to enjoy camping and their privacy is of the utmost importance to many of them and to the camp. That's one of the reasons they continue to return. Work doesn't bring them to Hillside. After several years visiting camp, we got the following note from a porn star as well as a personal visit to say how much he enjoyed Hillside. During his visit, he suggested putting his comment on this Web site so we did. As always, he will remain anonymous. We certainly enjoyed his picture search on my computer. The tour was a real treat!

”HILLSIDE IS GREAT friends and great times. It's anything you want it to be. There are other campgrounds but there is only one Hillside. When I have time I look forward to my visits and I hope that will continue for a very long time.”

"I WANT TO SAY a big thank you to everyone on the staff at Hillside. As each year passes and I leave for the last time for the season it gets harder and harder. All you guys do a wonderful job to make everyone comfortable and feel at home. May the winter fly by for all of us. I cannot wait to see everyone in the spring. All my thoughts and prayers (are with all Hillsiders) for a safe winter. (I'll) see you all in May."

"I WENT TO HILLSIDE Campgrounds for the first time this summer, and I had a great time. Coming from the suburbs and NYC I forgot how friendly people really are. Every one was so nice and our dear neighbors even helped my friend and I set up our tent. We didn’t know anything about camping, but now we do! The whole staff and campers were very welcoming. I will return summer after summer. This is a must for a city slicker like me, and for anybody who likes having a good time in general! Thanks Hillside Campgrounds!"

"MY PARTNER AND I have a wonderful and relaxing time at Hillside over Memorial Day Weekend. From swimming to dancing at the Rec Hall, it was non-stop fun. We really enjoyed the play area. The people were friendly and we look forward to returning very soon."

"I JUST WANTED TO take a moment to let you know what a nice time I had at your facility this year. . . . The weather was not the greatest, but what a bunch of friendly guys!"

"I also wanted to tell you I have never danced so much at Hillside. The music this year was great! I spent more time in the Rec Hall than ever before."

"Staying at Hillside this year was such a pleasure! It was my first, but definitely not my last, time ever going. The scenery is breathtaking and the people are so friendly. I've told a lot of my friends about you guys -- how it felt being in a whole world of our own. A place where we can relax and be comfortable with who we are without fear of discrimination. I described my feelings toward the campground as being 'Dorothy coming out of her black and white life into a world full of color.' Thank you so much for having me. I look forward to visiting again soon."

"WE LOVE OUR VISITS to Hillside. We've visited two other campgrounds, including one close to our home, but Hillside is by far the best. Campers are friendly and we love the lack of 'drama queens.' Also, it's refreshing that people don't complain about other camps, something that we've heard at the other two campgrounds. We've decided the campers at our neighborhood camp are jealous and don't have enough pleasure in their lives. That can be the only reason they keep bitching about other campgrounds and campers. Keep up the good work!" J.W.

"CONGRATULATIONS on your success with the Hillside (Web) site. I see you have had more than 5 million hits and it's only been up for two or so years. What a wonderful change from the old sites. Thanks for keeping us all informed."

"I HAD NEVER been camping before this past weekend (July 15-16), let alone Hillside. I'm hooked. Can't wait to come back. Thank you for a great weekend."

"HILLSIDE IS a totally wonderful place. As they say, 'it's what you want it to be.' It's not sex, sex, sex as I've heard from some people from this area. Frankly I think they may be envious that such a nice campground exists close enough for some of us to visit. It's well worth the drive. Hillside is men enjoying friendships the way they wish to enjoy them. Most men I've met don't have attitudes like some at other camps. I found few camp rules and the ones that are there seemed reasonable in keeping a large camp running smoothly for everyone. Thanks for making such an outsanding campground available to us!"

"SUMMER OF 2004 was my first time at Hillside. I enjoyed it so much that I could not wait for winter and spring to fly by so I could have a great summer at Hillside. I like how men who come to Hillside value diversity and treat everyone with respect and friendliness. Great job guys! See you very soon at July Leather weekend. (Look for the SHORT leather cub!)"

"I WAS SO NERVOUS, even making the reservation, but was quickly calmed when I arrived at my cabin #3. I could not get over the great facilities and the great guys that I have met. From young to old, in all shapes and sizes, everyone takes you for who you are. No titles or positions, just regular guys who have a great deal in common. Whether you're sitting by the pool, hanging out near the play area, having a cup of coffee with friends or playing a mean game of Dominos in the evening, you will find a quality of life and friendship not found within the general public. And did I mention that clothes are an option? It doesn't take long before most are comfortable enough to shed their drawers and just relax in a safe non-judgmental environment. The staff is friendly and helpful and I look forward to seeing my new friends and making even more. I am a new person and finally have a found a place where I can be who I am. Thanks to . . . the many (perms and) day campers for making this stay the most relaxing and rewarding few days I have had in years. I can't wait to come back. The cabins are beautiful and the bath houses are very clean. Everything is at Hillside. If you come to Hillside, remember its your temporary home, treat it as such. Thanks again Guys for a great visit."

"I LIKE THE NEW Web site. My partner, Duane, and I are NNS members and usually visit three weekends per year. We like arriving midweek and staying until the following Monday. That way, we get to enjoy the quiet of midweek, the excitement of the weekend and the Sunday night wind down. We also enjoy the potluck on the Wednesday after July 4. Perhaps it should happen more often."

"YOU'RE TO BE COMMENDED for producing an excellent Web site. It's informative and entertaining. I've never seen a camp Web site that is updated as frequently as this one. Congratulations!"

"EARL AND I came (to Hillside) for our first overnight trip with our friend Matt who goes every year. We had a wonderful time and will come back again. I enjoyed the Saturday show and may help out next year (I do drag, too). The campers are friendly, respectful and courteous. Thanks a lot. Oh, and the weekend pics are up already! WOW." M & E
